The purpose of this project is to design a robot, which is capable of detecting hidden land mines whose movement is done by RF wireless technology.
The proposed system consists of two blocks such as transmitter and receiver block; both use a microcontroller of 8051 family and a battery for power source. This project consists of a metal detector circuit for sensing metals present in land mines.
An RF transmitter module is connected to the transmitter unit with the help of an encoder device. The push buttons are connected to the microcontroller as input switches. The commands are sent by the push buttons to reach the receiver to control the movement of the robot either in forward, backward left or right directions.
An RF receiver is connected to the receiver end with help of a decoder device. The two motors are interfaced to the microcontroller through a motor driver IC wherein they are used to run or change the directions of the robotic vehicle.
The robot is controlled by an RF remote wherein the commands are sent by the transmitter – and, based on these commands – the receiver controls the directions of the robot. A metal detector circuit is mounted on the robot’s body such that when the robot moving on the surface encountering any metallic object ,produces a beep sound, indicating the mine detected.
The project future can be enhanced by mounting a wireless camera on the robot so that the operator can control the movement of the robot remotely by watching it on a screen.
