The energy crisis in India is one of the major problems. Transmission of an effective power, as well as power utilization of this power, is one of the major problems. The power factor is the hidden factor, which causes a great loss of electrical energy and also harms electrical tools. The power factor of changing load can be calculated and rewarded using the static method. So we need to find out the reasons of power loss and extend the power system. Due to industrialization, the employ of inductive load boosts and therefore power system losses its efficiency. So we need to improve the power factor with a suitable method. Nowadays, the embedded system is very much popular and most of the product are developed with microcontroller based embedded technology.
Android operated home automation using Bluetooth device is a good combination of mobile technology as well as the embedded system. The user can manage Home appliances using Android device by installing on his/her Android mobile phone to control different home appliances. The user can send control signals using that application. This project comprises a Bluetooth receiver, which is connected to the circuit and it has a decoder. This decoder sends a code for the individual signal sent by the user. Then the particular load connected to the circuit will be activated depending on the signal given. At the output side of this project, we have connected 5 relays and a buzzer as a load.
A 4 quadrant DC motor control operation is necessary for industrial as well as marketable applications. These applications need both driving and braking that means motoring and generating ability. Some of these applications comprise lifts, cranes, electric traction systems, engine test loading systems, and cable laying winders. The different quadrant processes drive the motor with usual as well as the turnaround of both voltage and currents so as to run as well as to crack the motor either in any directions. Let us discuss an Arduino board based 4 quadrant dc motor control operations in brief.
Automation system is mostly depending upon the power systems in industrial, residential or commercial, which needs remote controlling and monitoring. By employing wireless technologies, it is more competent to execute a suitable technology depending upon the requirements of the proposed system like speed, cost, and distance.
For distant controlling and monitoring of different loads and by means of efficient power usage through real time power spending with the help of a PC based graphical user interface application. The progress of technology equipments is becoming simpler and easier for us. Automated systems have more benefits over manual system. PC based electrical load controlled systems are highly reliable, precise and time conserving systems. They give number of features like rapid data storage, transfer data and data securities.
The electrical energy we consume in our day-to-day life is being generated from different sources such as renewable and non-renewable energy sources. To avoid the depletion of non-renewable energy sources like coal, diesel, and so on, the renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, etc., are mostly preferable for electricity generation. If you’re an electronics or computer science student, you’ve probably learnt a lot about multiplexers. Also known as a mux, this device allows multiple data lines to be crunched into a single line, no matter if the input lines are analog or digital. As evident, multiplexers allow heavy data flow without using too much bandwidth or taking up too much time. Instead of sending 10 lines of data one by one, a multiplexer can send them all at once, which obviously results in a far more efficient transfer. It can also be called a data selector. Now, since all that data is being crunched, it becomes necessary for the receiving end to make sense of it, so separate each strand of data, and that’s where a demultiplexer comes in. It does precisely the opposite of what a multiplexer does, and creates multiple data output lines from a single input line, originating from a multiplexer. Similar to the shortened word for multiplexer, it’s also called a demux. The simplest example is as follows a 2 input, single output MUX: [Read more…]
Bluetooth, the curiously named communication standard has taken the world by storm. Now a given feature on everything from smartphones to in-vehicle entertainment systems, Bluetooth has an interesting history and working, proving how versatile this communication standard is. It is managed by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG), a non-profit, non stock company which mainly deals with setting standards, licensing and advancing Bluetooth capabilities. Before this it was standardized by the IEEE as IEEE 802.15.1, but since the SIG, that convention is not used. Here’s more about how the wireless communication standard came to be, why it is named so, how it has grown over the years and where it is used! [Read more…]
When you think about some of the most pressing issues the world is facing, global warming and pollution definitely come to mind. With the ever increasing number of cars, trucks, motorbikes and whatnot that still run on fossil fuels, our environment isn’t getting healthier, specially in some of the larger cities. In fact, a few cities have gotten so polluted by exhaust fumes and the like that stars in the night sky aren’t visible properly. Speaking of which, Beijing is considered one of the most polluted cities in the world. It is often covered in dense smog caused by industrial and automobile exhaust smoke, to the extent that citizens are asked to wear face masks. If that’s doesn’t sound bad enough, there are large television screens around the city that show a virtual sunrise at appropriate times because the natural sunrise isn’t visible through the smog!
LabVIEW is a programming environment and system design tool for a visual programming language, developed by American company National Instruments. If you’re an electronics, electrical or instrumentation engineer, or a budding one, LabVIEW should definitely be on your radar, if it already isn’t, that is. This powerful platform is used worldwide in hundreds of fields, and the amount of scope for a LabVIEW programmer is nothing short of enormous. Interested? Read on to find out more about LabVIEW! When you think of projectors, the first thing that comes to mind are large, ungainly boxes and a bunch of cables. That’s not always true though. While larger projectors obviously have better quality outputs, there are pico projectors that can sometimes match or even exceed full size projector quality. So what are pico projectors exactly? They’re simply miniature projectors, either embedded with another handheld device, or just by themselves. Also called pocket projectors, mobile projectors or handheld projectors, these devices were developed as a result of the miniaturization of all devices. Here’s all you need to know about pico projectors! [Read more…]
