PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The main goal of this project is to control the lighting loads automatically with the use of light dependent sensor wherein lights remain on at sunset and switches off at the sunrise – thus, saving the energy and avoiding the human intervention.

This system is based on an LDR. It senses the change in the intensity of the light and its resistance changes accordingly. The output of the LDR is fed to a 555 timer in bistable mode, which switches on the light in the evening and switches off in the morning. The 555 timer output controls the triggering load through a TRIAC.

Q:  What is automatic dusk to dawn?
A:  Light will automatically switch on in the evening and switch off in the morning time by sensing the daylight.
Q:  Which sensor is used?
A:  LDR is the sensor used.
Q:  What is LDR?
A:  LDR or light dependant resistor is a special type of resistor whose resistance changes when light falls on it.
Q:  What to do when the lamp fails and what is the maximum lamp rating that can be used?
A:  If the lamp fails one can use any lamp or bulb which is used in homes up to 100W. We suggest you to go for low watt bulbs.

Kit was delivered on time with the right components.I haven’t started the work on building the kit yet.I will recommend you to others because It was easy to pick up project, I have seen the 1 minute video and I thought it is easy to assemble the project through audio visuals without anyone’s assistance.
