PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project is designed to develop a robotic vehicle that is controlled by a cell phone. DTMF commands from a phone are sent to another cell phone which is mounted on the robot. These commands are fed to the microcontroller of the 8051 family to operate the vehicle movement through motor interface.                                                                        

The commands sent from one cellphone (control end) to another interfaced with the microcontroller and mounted onto the robot (receiver end) are DTMF (Dual Tone Multi Frequency) mode commands, which are then decoded by the DTMF decoder. T

he corresponding codes are then fed to the microcontroller programmed to recognize those codes to operate DC motors through a motor-driver IC for movement in any direction according to the sent commands from the sender’s mobile.

The motors are controlled using the motor-driver IC interfaced to the microcontroller. This system uses the microcontroller from the 8051 family and a battery for power source.

Furthermore, in future, this project can be enhanced using additional motors for multipurpose activity. For example, it can be developed into pick n place robot or firefighting robot with a water pump.
