PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The aim of this project is to develop an under voltage and overvoltage cutoff  mechanism to protect the load from damage. It cuts off the load when the input voltage is above or below a set value.

This proposed system trips the load in the event of the input voltage falling below or above a set value. Two 555 timers are used  forming a window comparator. This delivers an error output if the input voltage to them crosses the range beyond the voltage window.

A relay is then operated the contacts of which are used to cutoff the load for safety reasons. A lamp is used as a load in this project.

The concept in future can be extended by integrating an alarm, which sounds when voltage fluctuation occurs. It can also be interfaced with a GSM modem to convey alert  message to the user via SMS to take appropriate action.

Q:  Can I replace lamp with any load?
A:  Yes, any electrical load up to 200W can be used.
Q:  What is over and under voltage protection?
A:  Tripping the load under low voltage and high voltage conditions is over and under voltage protection.
Q:  Is there any alarm indication provided for abnormal conditions?
A:  Yes, a buzzer continuously beeps for these conditions
Q:  What is the formula for calculating smoothing capacitor value?
A:  There is some approximated formula .Peak to peak ripple voltage = Load current in amps / (2*line frequency in hertz *capacitance in farads). But as rule of thumb for 1 A current 1000uF is best. Thus it is load dependent.

I got to know about edgefx through google. I was searching my project title in google then i got the edgefx site..
I have decided to buy project from edgefx because in website i saw 100% output guaranteed that is why i purchased a project from edgefx. And, i like most about edgefx was the presentation of the kit.
the kit was delivered in time with right components.
i would like to give reference to my juniors.
