The main objective of this project is to control the speed of aBLDC motor and display its speed using an IR method of speed sensing mechanism. BLDC motor speed control is desired for various industrial applications,such asdrilling, lathes, spinning, elevators, etc. This proposed system provides a very precise and effective speed control system to increase or decrease the speed.

The project is divided into three stages: input, processing and output stage. Input stage consists of entering required speed through switches.Processing stage provides RPM reference of the motor, by a shaft mounted reflector to throw one pulse per rotation to IR sensor interfaced to themicrocontroller inthe circuit.

TheMicrocontroller developsPWM pulses which are varied with the switches to regulateDC power to motor such that the desired speed is achieved.

The output stage uses a MOSFET being driven by the microcontroller output.An 8051family microcontroller is used with a set of switches to increase or decrease the speed of the BLDC motor.

This speed is sensed by sensors and is given to the microcontroller which in turn displays it on a LCD display. The above operation is carried out by using one opto-isolator and a MOSFET for driving the BLDC motor. IR sensing is used for getting reference speed to the microcontroller.

Q:  Which microcontroller is used in this project?
A:  The microcontroller used in this project is a 40 pin IC from 8051 family.
Q:  Can I use bigger stepper/ induction motor to sense the speed?
A:  Yes any motor with reflecting surface from shaft can be used.
Q:  What is the role of EEPROM?
A:  EEPROM is used for data restoration or backup even after power interruption.
Q:  How can I control the speed?
A:  One can control the speed by push buttons provided in the project.

I got to know about edgefx through google. I was surfing for diploma final year projects . The keywords i used to find the project basic electronic projects for diploma final year.
I have decided to buy the project from edgefx because the cost is less. And it was according to my budget. I like most about edgefx kit is presentation of the the kit.
the project was delivered on time with right components.
i have called the customer service people.They have helped me in purchasing the project.
please provide more and more variety of projects for upcoming juniors.
i would like to give reference to my friends and my juniors.
I know the there was blog for edgefx called elprocus. When i was searching for project i saw the elprocus. But, I have not seen it completely.

I used the Electronic topics in the Google to find Edgefx.I decided to buy a project from Edgefx because by seeing the website it is really attractive and I Like the Documentation in my kit.Yes the kit delivered on time with the right components.I purchased through online. Improvement is not required.
