PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The main objective of this project is to intimate concerned authorities about an unauthorized access of secured areas such as museums, residential houses, banks, etc. This proposed system ensures that at any moment if any unauthorized person trying to open a bank locker ,upon detecting a burglary –will  automatically dial a telephone number through the telephone line connected to it using I2C protocol.

This project uses a microcontroller from the 8051 family, and an external memory EEPROM is interfaced to the microcontroller to store the contact number to which autodialing has to be done. The arrangement is made in such a way that when someone tries to open the door forcefully while it is locked, the microcontroller gets an interrupt through a hidden switch mechanism interfaced to it.

It then automatically dials the number stored in the EEPROM through a DTMF encoder interfaced to the microcontroller. The microcontroller fetches information from the external memory like EEPROM using a I2C (Inter IC communication) protocol.

Furthermore, this project can be enhanced by using a cell phone or GSM modem with a serial camera connected to it. The camera will take photographs and send it over MMS/ email attachment to the concerned authorities.
