PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The main objective of this project is to provide a security system with a provision to change the password by an authorized person only. This proposed system provides a user-friendly security system for organizations and homes. This system is password based and allows only authorized person to access it with the password.

The system is fully controlled by an 8-bit microcontroller of the 8051 family. A password is stored in an EEPROM interfaced to the microcontroller which is possible to be changed anytime unlike a fixed password burnt permanently to the microcontroller.

A keypad is used to enter the password and a relay is interfaced to the microcontroller using a relay driver to lock or unlock the electric door, which is indicated by the lamp in the project. Any wrong attempt to open the door (by entering a wrong password) prompts an alert indicated by another lamp.

Furthermore, this project can be enhanced by interfacing a GSM modem to the device so that when a wrong password is entered, an alert SMS will be sent to the concerned authority.
