PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This ultrasonic level controller comprises an ultrasonic module that detects a precise range by the reflection coming ahead of it. This module is interfaced with a serial port of the microcontroller. Whenever the level distance measured in cm falls below a set point, the pump starts by sensing signal coming out from the ultrasonic module. The signals sent by Tx sensor are reflected from the level and is received by the  Rx sensor – the output of  which is fed to the microcontroller.

When the microcontroller receives the signal from the ultrasonic receiver, it activates a relay through MOSFET that operates pump ON/OFF as required.

The power supply consists of a step-down transformer (230V, 50Hz/12V) that steps down the voltage to 12V AC. This is converted into a DC using a bridge rectifier. Ripples are removed using a capacitive filter and, it is then regulated to +5V, using voltage regulator 7805, which is required for the operation of the microcontroller and other components.
